Hagood Homes built our home in 2021 and despite the covid 19 supply chain issues (remember?) we were able to enter our home on time. We very much appreciated their flexibility, their commitment to doing the right thing even months after closing, and their ability to graciously adjust their plans to match our needs. We will consider them again if we have to build another home in the region. Highly recommended.

We purchased our home 3.5 years ago. One of the first things that struck me was, in Kinney’s counteroffer to us, assuming we came to a deal, we agreed to meet WITH HIM within a certain # of days to go over the house. Of course we did, and i was very, very impressed. He spent a couple of hours going over all the small details of the house that would otherwise go unnoticed, and it was very clear the pride he took in the quality of his home. And this all proved to be just the beginning of his great service, standing behind a wonderfully built, quality home. Here’s another example on the “other end” of our experience; about 6 weeks ago our smoke detector started blinking in our master bedroom, and I had lived in fear for the day this would happen as our ceiling where the detector is have to be, i don’t know at least 16-20 feet high, and I’m not getting up on a ladder to change it. Not knowing where to turn, i emailed Jim asking where he might recommend in find this kind of person. The same day he responded “I’ll have someone out there tomorrow!” And sure enough, next morning, there was one of his workmen with extension ladder in hand. Not only did he change all of the smoke detector batteries, but he helped me out on 2 other, smaller issues that i couldn’t handle, but the workman quickly did. The home is spectacular, and we absolutely love Jim Kinney and the great designer expertise of his wife. We cannot recommend them more highly.

Our Hagood Homes of the Low Country house was completed in the spring of 2023. From early-stage design to final completion our experience working with Jim Kenny and his Construction Manager, Tres Grissom, has been wonderful. In addition to the overall quality of our house, which we are very satisfied with, there are several traits that Jim and his team have that we believe sets them apart from some other builders.

Communications. Jim and his team are very proactive at keeping the homeowners well informed throughout the process.

Integrity and honesty. We quickly developed trust and respect for everyone we worked with.

Responsiveness. Phone call/text/email, all returned promptly without fail.

Attention to details. Jim suggested a number of tweaks to items such as the orientation of the house on the lot, interior and exterior trim work, and even placement of outlets. It was reassuring to know the owner of the company was paying attention to those things.
